Being a mechanic, he naturally became interested in the methods the body used to nourish and renew its different organs. He learned about the white corpuscles and how they fought disease, and—most important of all— how the mind could send a flow of blood to any part of the body on which its thought was concentrated.

So he began consciously applying his thought to sending an extra flow of blood to the part of his body that was ailing. He ordered the white corpuscles in the blood to destroy the germs of disease and remove the waste matter from those parts. You have seen the big electric cranes that are used for picking up scrap iron and metals of different sorts. There is a great metal disc at the end of the rope, which can be magnetized or de-magnetized at will.
